An amazing tour to discover one of the "gems" most beautiful in Tuscany: San Gimignano, small town on the Valdelsa hills with its high towers, symbols of the ancient commercial richness of the town and nowadays a distinguishing characteristic of the town. Site of a small Etruscan village in the Ellenistic period, San Gimignano had a great development during the Middle age, thanks to the Via Francigena route that crossed it. Registered in the list of the World Heritage of Unesco, is nowadays a medieval village world-wide famous for its towers (originally 72 of which 14 are still present) and for the richness of its artistic and cultural heritage: from its beautiful Romanic churches painted by some of the most famous painters of the Florence Renaissance, to its high historic building and museums.
Famous is also the San Gimignano wine, the "Vernaccia", one of the white vine most prestigious and ancient of Italy, and the saffron, precious product since the Middle Age for the economy of San Gimignano. To visit San Gimignano means also dive into the past, walking in its small alleys admiring amazing views that make unique a wine tasting, a meal in a typical restaurant and a visit to the goods of the local handicraft.

An itinerary in the heart of Tuscan and ancient countryside, where you can admire one of the best kept town of the Middle Age with its city walls composed of 14 towers Monteriggioni, that, almost unchanged, is a unique town in all Italy. The village, all inside the city walls, is composed of few houses, a wide central square and handcraft shops that work ceramic and wood. Its charme made it famous for both cinema and advertising and for tourists from all over the world. The past comes to a new life inside the Castle of Monteriggioni during the Medieval Festival that takes place every year in July, where all inhabitants participate to this happening half way between history and legend.
Later, we will have the pleasure to lead you to another little gem of the Valdelsa, Casole D’Elsa, following an itinerary that goes through the rolling hills, vineyards, olive trees and sunflowers. Small Etruscan village, also Casole is protected by huge difensive walls. Its history is reminded very year with the "Palio di Casole", ancient horse race.
A journey through enchanting valleys and rolling hills, framed in a breathtaking setting, will lead you to Volterra, unspoilt town, founded by Etruscan on a tufo cliff that dominates the all Val di Cecina. During the past many population left a mark in Volterra, creating an imposing fusion between Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance art, which you can admire while walking in the streets of the historic centre. We will show you the "Fortezza Medicea", emblem of the town built for military purpose and remained a jail until the Risorgimento, and we will lead you to discover its ancient alleys that keep a treasure made of memories, history and traditions. And traditions still play a big role in this beautiful town, through the well known alabaster work, a crafts of ancient origin, of high level, that export art pieces all over the world. During our itinerary, will be included some panoramic stops, and the visit of the famous "Balze di Volterra".
A lovely tour focused on discovering the idyllic landscape of the Val d’Orcia, area south of Siena, that include two important destinations: Pienza and Montalcino. Town settled for the will of the Pope Pio II in the Fifteenth Century, Pienza keep its image of city of the Renaissance, perfect mix of beauty, harmony and architectonic excellence. We will lead you to the discover of the numerous architectonic solutions introduced by the Pope, as the main road, planned with many small curve to make it seem longer and to offer many different point of observations. Beside prestigious monuments, in Pienza still live the ancient agricultural traditions, perfectly enjoyable nowadays, through the local flavours: from the famous cheese "pecorino di Pienza", to cured pork meat, from its wine to the olive oil, products that you can taste in the numerous shops and restaurants that we will meet along the way.
The excursion carries on to Montalcino, to discover one of the most worldwide appreciated wine, the "Brunello". Medieval village of undisputed beauty, Montalcino, keeps a secular wine tradition that marks the town history and its image. We will visit the most prestigious wineries and wine shop in town, where to stop to taste or buy the different kind of Brunello wine, discovering at the same time the territory and including a visit to the beautiful Romanic Abbey of Sant’Antimo.
Not to be missed, ina tour discovering Tuscany, two exclusive destinations: Lucca and Pisa. The visit of Lucca stars without any doubt from its impressive walls that surround it, a real ring interrupted only by city doors and bulwarks, where is worth to have a walk and enjoy an impressive view. We will then go through the downtown, where you’ll discover a Renaissance, Roman and Medieval Lucca, visiting monuments, churches and museums or more likely walking in this little and cosy village. Not to miss is also a stop in Piazza Napoleone, the centre of the city life.
Our itinerary goes then through rolling hills and lovely views thanks also to the fabulous villa of the Renaissance, to finally reach Pisa. We will start our journey discovering the town, just from the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with a visit to the Leaning tower, worldwide famous, to keep on going to the most important squares and monuments in Pisa: the Baptistery, the Graveyard, the Cathedral, the historic centre with the typical house-tower, to arrive in Piazza Dante, where is born the studio Pisano. And it’s in this university where is born a science of world historical importance: the one of Galileo Galilei. Our walk ends up in the Sixteen Century Piazza dei Cavalieri, the Borgo Stretto, with its beautiful arcades, and the lively Piazza Garibaldi from where, if you wish, you can embark to enjoy a wonderful panoramic path in the Arno river.
